protect ya neck

its obviously been a while since i posted anything. i think its because ive been buying way too much stuff and cant keep up with taking pictures of them. so instead of posting any of the things ive recently bought, im going to write about something i REALLLLLLLLY want (and will try my bestest to save up for).

these are from Lizzie Fortunato. i LOVE these necklaces:

delish! they're all pretty much $300+ which means i gotta start looking for a suga daddy PRONTO!!

the ultimate good finds post

after anthony and i moved into our new apt here in the LES, i wanted to do a panorama of it to show my parents and also so i could have documentation of yet another place ive lived in. i like to try to keep pictures of all the places ive lived.

so i finally got around to it, 2 months later... and here it is! i posted it on my flickr site too so i could make little notes of all my good finds. (this is what happens when anthony leaves me home alone!!)

Me too me too!

When Crystal posts, I want to post too. I looked through my sack of goodies from the last Housing Works outing and said "what the effffff" about three times. Haha. Random finds this time. All the good good stuff I am too lazy to take pics of (Gaultier pant/skirt, little kid Lord and Taylor red robe, printed houndstooth pencil skirt) so you'll have to settle with the following:

Little kids petticoat. Housing Works Warehouse, $1.

Bright blue cotton cumberbund. Housing Works Warehouse, $1.

Linen with black trim pocketbook. Housing Works Warehouse, $1.

housing works fiasco continues

so mich and i just couldn't stay from the housing works warehouse sale. i think we've already been back twice since the inital post. we are slowly running out of steam, though. there is really only so many pairs of thongs you can accidentally stick your pinky through before you just get too tired. but the finds have still been a-plenty!

i liked this military jacket, when i came home i found out its actually from a high end boutique in the west village. apparently julianne moore and gretchen mol like to shop there.

annelore jacket, housing works warehouse sale, $1

a handmade blue knit hat, a nice vintage woven scarf, housing works warehouse sale, $1

a vintage beaded coin purse and a velvet little purse with gold strap, housing works warehouse sale, $1

i also managed to finally get a print framed. mich gave me this tiffany bozic print for my birthday about 3 years ago and it sat between 2 cardboard pieces for a very long time. i finally decided one day to take it to the framer and managed to talk him down from $120 to $80. yahoo!

custom frame and matte for print, framers on 23rd st, $80

everything belongs to the cat

soooo. im finally updating. i will begin with just 3 of the amazing items i bought in the housing works warehouse debacle mich previously mentioned!chloe trouser pants, housing works warehouse: $1

gucci ankle pants, housing works warehouse: $1
small suede and leather vintage pouch/purse, housing works warehouse: $1

a part of me wants to go back in 2 weeks but another part of me wants to take a really hot shower and continue to rub my thighs with icy hot. maybe if i got some rubber gloves and a surgical mask for the next trip...

so the reason i haven't been posting a lot of my fabulous finds is because i haven't been buying much. anthony and i moved to the lower east side and ive been trying to save up my money for new furniture, rent, etc. but we're all moved in and now we're buying some bigger pieces for the place. heres what we've got so far:

i LOVE this couch. i saw it about a month ago and wanted to buy it but anthony and mich both said no no. i kept looking and looking but couldn't find anything better than this. i love tufted anything! as you can see in the picture though, the cat has taken over the couch already and refuses to sleep anywhere else. in the picture you can see traces of white animal fur. we have to clean it everyday. if i only knew...
tufted brown sofa, housing works in chelsea: $250

after weeks of looking for shelving, anthony and i decided this would be the best option at the best price point. we bought this off of craig's list today and went to some korean lady's apt to disassemble it, haul it in a van cab, haul it to our apt, reassemble it, and place random goods on it. this shit is HEAVY! (i dont know how but sweaty managed to find his way into both pictures)
white ikea 4x4 cube shelf, craigslist: $85, orig $159

so we're working on the rest of our furniture and that will be posted hopefully in the next week or so. until then, everything belongs to the cat.

We have discovered the holy grail of thrift stores...

This past Saturday, Crystal and I put on our snow shoes and trekked to Long Island City at 11am to take part in one of the crazies thrift store shopping experience we have ever seen. Housing Works, a nonprofit NY chain of thrift stores that Crys and I already peruse and purchase from on a regular basis, holds this event twice a month where basically they have huge bins and boxes of clothes and accessories and you can stuff as much as you want into a brown bag for $20. We thought since it was freezing outside that there wouldn't be many people there but as soon as we walked in, our jaws dropped. The place was packed with people digging through piles and piles of clothes. Stuff was everywhere... EVERYWHERE. There was barely any room to walk and everyone had this frantic look in their eyes. At first we thought that even WE couldn't hang with this kind of madness but once we got started, we couldn't stop. 2 hours later, we came out with a bag of amazing goodies. We came out with about 20-25 items, making them approx. $1 each. Holy shit. These are a few of the items I picked up (I'll let Crys post her own).

St. John collection wool knit skirt, $1, Housing Works Warehouse

Ann Taylor silk-back vest, $1, Housing Works Warehouse

Brand new Tracy Feith checkered coin wallet, $1, Housing Works Warehouse

Vintage leather wrist-length motorcycle gloves, $1, Housing Works Warehouse

Other items not pictured:
- Jean Paul Gaultier woven top
- Malo cotton black sweater
- See by Chloe white with blue stripe tuxedo pant
- black vintage bathing suit (I know some of you are going to think this is gross, but vintage bathing suits are amazing and absolutely wearable after some heavy-duty scrubbing)

The best item out of the stash is definitely the leather gloves since I've been looking for a pair on ebay for awhile. It's hard to find vintage gloves that are in good condition and don't smell like dead people and will fit correctly. The little shell closure snap and the knuckle holes (i don't know what else to call this) are perfect. Also, I had only found one of the two gloves by accident on the floor. I was afraid that in the mess there was no way I would find its mate, but after lots of digging and hoping, I was able to complete the pair. GLEE!!
